Dear Residents, Family Members and Responsible Parties,
Thank you for your continued prayers and support during this challenging time. In this month of May, we call upon our Blessed Mother to intercede on our behalf for an end to the
We have had a total of ten staff members who have tested positive for COVID-19. Six have recovered from their symptoms and have been cleared to return to work. The other four are still out recovering.
We are happy to report that there are no new cases in our Personal Care unit, where a total of 10 Residents had tested positive, with two deaths, three recuperating in other skilled nursing rehab facilities, and five who have recovered here at the Home.
In our skilled nursing unit, a total of two Residents tested positive, with one death and one recuperating here at the Home.
Our apartment Residents remain healthy, mostly thanks to their following the guidelines for sheltering in place, handwashing, and social distancing. Despite the inconveniences, our Residents have been cooperative and understanding, for which we are grateful.
All staff continues to wear N-95 masks in the care units, as well as face shields, gloves and gowns when caring for any Resi_dent with COVID-19. Staff and Residents are still monitored and screened for symptoms every day.
We are encouraged by the support we are receiving from family members and our benefactors, who continue to help us obtain hard to get items. We need gloves (non-latex, powder-free), thermometers, disposable gowns, hand sanitizer, clorox wipes with bleach, and disinfecting wipes.
Families have been taking advantage of setting up Face Time calls with their loved ones. If you would like to set up a call, please reply to this e-mail and provide us with your name, Resident’s name and phone number (firstname.lastname@example.org).
We thank all the Residents, families and benefactors for their prayers, which has helped our Home during this pandemic. We hope everyone here continues to remain healthy and that soon restrictions will slowly be lifted so that we can see each other again.
Please pray for the repose of the souls of those Residents who have recently died and for the consolation of their families. Some of our Sisters, Residents, staff and benefactors have had relatives and friends who have passed, and we remember them in our prayers and at Mass.
Thank you for all you do and for following all the precautionary guidelines we have put into place. We greatly appreciate your cooperation, understanding, and patience during this challenging time. Let us all work together to keep each other safe and healthy. Let us continue to pray for each other, especially those who are sick with the virus, that God’s Divine Mercy will protect us and keep us healthy and that there may soon be an end to the coronavirus pandemic.
